Queensland Counsellors Association - QCA - is an incorporated professional Association for counsellors and psychotherapists. It is dedicated to enhancing quality counselling services for the community. QCA is based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It has members throughout the State, and has been serving the counselling profession since 1973. QCA counselling therapists work with a wide range of client issues including grief and loss, relationships and communication, work and career, stress, life transitions, parenting, self-esteem, spiritual issues, difficulties caused by addictions, trauma and abuse. When appropriate, referral is made to specialist providers. QCA members work in a variety of settings. Some work in private practice, while others work in agencies such as Lifeline, Relationships Australia, Centacare, Kinections, and government departments such as Education, Families Youth and Community Care, and Veterans Affairs. QCA is open to all therapists who meet the required standards of training and experience, irrespective of their practice tradition. Members provide evidence of supervised counselling practice. They are required to practice in accordance with the Association’s Code of Ethics. QCA is dedicated to:
